Yvonne Gache

Yvonne Gache is a counselling psychologist and a practitioner of critical psychology.  She develops and leads Mental Wellbeing Programs for populations affected by protracted conflict and chronic violence, integrating clinical rigor with awareness of sociopolitical and cultural determinants. Currently, she serves as Program Manager at Think Peace Learning and Support Hub, where she focuses on advancing regional collaboration, multi-stakeholder knowledge exchange, and advocacy for mental health equity. Simultaneously, she serves as the Secretary for the Secretariat of the Eastern Africa Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Network, supporting coordination and collective action across the region.

Yvonne's practice is firmly rooted in critical and decolonial approaches that challenge prevailing paradigms and amplify marginalized voices. Her work emphasizes co-creation, systemic transformation, and accessible, culturally grounded interventions. She is committed to reshaping mental health narratives through evidence-based strategies that foreground dignity, resilience, and lived experience.
