Time, and with-it history, moves in circles. What is above will come down, and what is below will rise. Nothing lasts forever. Over the past 45 years, we have witnessed the wheels of time turning in mental healthcare. The current foundation of psychiatry is eroding, and alternative approaches are emerging. The era in which a mental disorder was in your head, in which the professional held a monopoly on knowledge, and in which the patient was cast in the role of an ignorant individual with little say is being shaken. In my short contribution, I will discuss this period of redefinition that will hopefully result in a further humanization of mental healthcare. A movement that, in my opinion, perfectly aligns with the mission of FGIP.
