Ragnhild Dybdahl

Prof. Ragnhild Dybdahl is a clinical psychologist and global mental health expert currently seconded to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. She also serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Bergen. With over 15 years of leadership experience in international development and humanitarian assistance, Prof. Dybdahl has worked across various regions, including Somalia, Bosnia, Guatemala, Niger, Sudan, Vietnam, France, and the UK. Her research and practice focus on mental health and psychosocial support in emergencies, early childhood development, sexual and gender-based violence, and social determinants of health. She has held senior positions in organisations such as Norwegian People’s Aid and Norad and has served as Deputy Head of the Norwegian Embassy in Vietnam. Prof. Dybdahl is also a former co-editor of the Journal on Education in Emergencies.
