Murugi Micheni

Dr. Murugi Micheni is a clinical epidemiologist and senior public health strategist with extensive experience in multisectoral coordination, integrated disease control, and health systems strengthening. She currently heads the Directorate of Epidemiology and Strategy at the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council in Kenya, where she focuses on translating evidence into policy and aligning health interventions with broader social and structural determinants of health. Dr. Micheni brings deep expertise in HIV and syndemic programming, strategic information, and data-driven planning across both national and subnational levels and is widely recognized for her ability to foster collaboration among government institutions, development partners, and communities to drive sustainable, people-centred health responses
