Lenny Naidoo
Graduated MB CHB (UKZN 1988). He was a Senior Medical Officer in the City of Cape Town from 2014-2022 and provided oversight and clinical governance across all PHC programmes.
Dr. Lenny Naidoo is currently the Manager for Specialised Health in the City of Cape Town Health Directorate. He has been in this role since April 2022 and oversees the management and provides strategic guidance to 16 specialised units, including HAST, Substance Abuse and CPPHC, which includes Mental Health. He has over 30 years of experience in the field of TB and HIV and has been managing patients with drug-resistant TB since 2006. His special areas of interest are Rifampicin-resistant TB; paediatric HIV; Child Health and Mental Health. His research work focuses on adult and paediatric TB. He has presented at both local and international conferences on paediatric and adult Rifampicin-Resistant TB, Mental Health and TB and decentralised care. He is a very strong advocate for patients living with TB and HIV. He represents the City on numerous provincial forums and co-chaired the TB Clinical Forum with DTTC for many years. He is also a member of the National TB Think Tank and the newly formed SA Child, Adolescent and Maternal TB Task team. He also serves on the WC Provincial DRTB Review Board and the PCAC (Provincial Clinical Advisory Committee). He also led the CityHealth Mental Health Strategic Task Team established in 2018.
