Donat Shamba
Donat Shamba is a Senior Research Scientist and public health researcher at the Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) in Tanzania. With over 15 years of experience, he specializes in health systems research, focusing on maternal, newborn, and child health, family planning, HIV/AIDS, mental health, and malaria studies.
He holds a Master of Science in Global Health and Development from University College London (UCL) and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Administration from Kampala International University, Uganda.
Shamba has contributed to the development of health system strategies for intervention delivery and has practical experience in implementing low-cost interventions to sustainably implement evidence-based solutions for strengthening the health system and delivering equitable and quality care.
He is also a Country Ambassador for the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH), representing Tanzania.
