Adelard Kakunze
Dr. Adelard Kakunze is a medical doctor and public health professional leading the Non-Communicable Diseases, Injuries, and Mental Health Unit at the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC). He has contributed to public health research on non-communicable diseases (NCDs), mental health, and mobile health technologies. Dr. Kakunze is also a social entrepreneur, having founded two start-ups and served as the founding curator of the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers community in Burundi. He is a 2015 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur, International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) alumnus, and a One Young World Ambassador since 2013.
